Příští stanice Hlavák: One year since the invasion of Ukraine

KineDok presents

About

KineDok presents a discussion on the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine with a public listening of Ivona Remundová and Walter Nagy's audio documentary Příští stanice Hlavák. It will have been a year since we woke up early in the morning of 24 February to a "new time". What most people living in Europe could not imagine for a long time became our new reality overnight. The Russian army invaded Ukraine live on the air, triggering the biggest armed conflict in Europe since the end of the Second World War. War refugees from Ukraine set off for safety in all corners of Europe, and almost immediately volunteers from the Hlavák Initiative began to attend to them at Prague Central Station. For a moment it seemed that the people of the Czech Republic would show themselves at their best and that solidarity with the people fleeing the war would surpass all expectations. But then something happened... Ukrainian Romani women, most of them with children, headed to Prague and the atmosphere of unbridled solidarity and understanding suddenly changed. The audio documentary Příští stanice Hlavák follows two volunteers, Martina Vaníková and Marta Harasimowicz, on their journey through the tense situation at Hlavák in April and May 2022. Listening to the audio documentary will be followed by a discussion with the authors, Marta Harasimowicz and other guests. ADMISSION IS FREE. The partner of the event is Český rozhlas Plus.

By attending the event, visitors give permission to have their person photographed and audiovisually recorded for the promotional purposes of the KineDok project.
