A story about a football team that rarely wins and their manager, who in turn is a winner for every man and has his heart in the right place.
Romanian football team Vulturii din Țaga has been playing in the lowest football league for a long time. The club's manager, the 66-year-old Mr. Nelu, must be a wonder to many since he continues to do this. The players are failing to perform, the club's facilities are more than inadequate and Mr. Nelu often divides his spare time between hoeing the potato field and looking after the club. The documentary Eagles from Taga follows daily life in a small village where the local team's footballers are often more enthusiastic about birthday parties and evening revelry than they are about football. So sometimes Mr. Nelu has to count on the Sunday before a game to see if enough players have turned up, just as he counts his players every night, he counts his chickens every night.
