A short documentary film explores the phenomenon of Hungarian women in the 1970s attempting to establish relationships with Italian men who came to the socialist country for cheap summer entertainment. The film primarily consists of interviews conducted in Hungary with young women who interacted with the holidaymakers. We hear various gossip spread among the girls, but also learn about the ideals and hopes these men represented for them, as well as the fates of friends who married Italians and moved to Italy. However, the allure of foreign luxury, known only from magazine covers or imported popular culture, may not have been an accurate depiction of the reality awaiting these young women.
