The brutalist building, which was supposed to be the pride of socialism and an exhibition of Yugoslav history, was built only in the basement. This is where the girl Milica and the aging beggar Mara found refuge. How will their lives be affected not only by the return of the girl's mother, but above all by the decision to convert the building into a concert hall?

Through a specific community represented primarily by three female characters, director Srdan Keča sketches a powerful observational metaphor about the uprooting of the socially disadvantaged inhabitants of today's Belgrade. This still partly stems from the socialist past represented by the never-realised museum, in which a certain community paradoxically found refuge. When we then leave the basement interior with Milica and her mother Vera and see them wandering the streets of Belgrade, it is impossible not to wonder where the socialist utopia whose monument the protagonists had to leave has gone. In the end, then, the documentary is not a critique of the contemporary Serbian authorities, but rather a portrait of people who have become accustomed to living outside the normal structures and now live from day to day without anyone reflecting on their existence.
