A video diary composed of images of the Antarctic captivating landscape, intertwined with dialogues with artificial intelligence, is helping to contemplate on human existence.
The documentary White on White uses video diaries to capture the experiences of the filmmaker in the Antarctic environment during the filming of her film FREM. Watching the landscape, where every action is several times more difficult for human than under normal circumstances, arouses respect for its power. The film is a meditative piece, where the author's conversations with artificial intelligence and the landscape combine into a collage of sensations and thoughts, while the human world finds itself on the margin. Shots of Antarctica, animals and a few people connect with the author's spoken thoughts, other times they are interwoven only with the sounds of the environment or occasional shots from China. Although life here follows its own rules, with its own rhythm, observing this place forces us to realize how human actions have left their mark here as well.
