Communities through art is a cross-border project implemented by Anthropolis (HU) and Citizenit (RO), aiming to strengthen mutual trust between communities in Romania and Hungary through artistic interventions, cultural events, and direct people-to-people actions. The project addresses key territorial challenges such as the limited interaction between individuals, artists, and cultural organisations on both sides of the border. It proposes creative, participatory solutions for social and urban regeneration, including mural painting workshops, student courses, VR events, documentary film screenings with public discussions, festivals, and concerts. Activities take place in several cities across the ROHU eligible area, actively involving artists, youth, students, and the general public in co-creative processes with long-term impact. The project is funded by the Interreg VI-A Romania-Hungary Programme, with a total budget of €199,985.94, out of which 80% is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.
