About film
Trailer
This return sets in motion a cycle of neighbourhood gossip and speculation - who is really to blame for what happened in the family? This close-up documentary follows a family who find themselves in the prison of their own home. Andrea does everything she can to ensure that her children continue to live a normal life; through the close-up camera work, the confinement of the story to one house and the creative use of sound, you can feel the rising tension between her and the rest of the village. Debutant director Botond Püsök delivers an almost physical depiction of the toxic atmosphere on the Romanian periphery through whispering voices that represent neighbourly gossip, creating an almost claustrophobic documentary horror full of unexpected symbolism, intimacy and an understated power lent to the film by its female protagonists.
