FEINKOŠT 2025: Of Butterflies, Oranges and Queens.

Sky like Silk. Full of Oranges (r. Betina Kuntzsch, DE, 2024, 10 min)

  • In spring 1990 – between the fall of the Berlin Wall and German reunification – the first former GDR citizens fly to Mallorca. Mallorca is a place of longing for many East Germans, known to them from their West German relatives' colorful postcards. Suddenly, anything seems possible. An animated documentary film; a collage of postcards, holiday photos, and documents.

Touching Darkness (r. Jamaica Kindlová, CZ, 2024, 5 min)

  • Touching Darkness allows us to enter the world of ten-year-old Vítek, a world sensed mainly by hearing and touch. Vítek tells us about his everyday life, but also about his big dreams and shows us that even life without sight can be colorful. However, even the bravest ones can sometimes have moments of sadness.

Life is like that and not otherwise. (r. Lenia Friedrich, DE, 2024, 13 min)

  • The film is an escargotic exploration of the spaces lived and lost throughout the life of Mrs. Miko, who is quite old now. Her storied, shell-like mind structures have become intertwined with those of the filmmaker, who, within the proximity of their shared home, dreamily muses on her own moribund process of ageing. The animated sequences of this film trace through memory strata, uncovering some artefacts, as well as the imprints and the fractures that are left behind when memories disappear.

Butterfly Girl (r. Ema Hůlková, CZ, 2024, 23 min)

  • Six-year-old Viktorka tries to understand the complex relationships in her family. At the same time, she prepares for the birth of her sibling and the first day of school. Her optimism, playfulness and imagination help her overcome all the challenges. The child's perspective, from which every day is full of small miracles, is also held by the camera. - “I don't know if I can do it all, because holding a stroller in one hand, a book in the other, and trying to read on top of that...”

I died in Irpin (r. Anastasiia Falileieva, CZ/SK/UA, 2024, 11 min)

  • "On February 24th in the morning my boyfriend and I decided to go from Kyiv to Irpin to see his parents. It is hard for me to recall the chronology of those days, my mind blocks and minimizes all the memories, erases them, but the only thing I know for sure is that every day everything rapidly became worse."

Asparagus Dead, Cherries Red (r. Elisabeth Wilke, Nina Moog, DE, 2025, 20 min)

  • Every year in spring, the Schrobenhausen Asparagus Association in Bavaria elects an Asparagus Queen. During her one-year reign, she has one central task: to celebrate and embody the enticing power of this noble vegetable in Bavaria and beyond.
