On Monday, December 11, a panel discussion titled AI in Art: Artificial Intelligence or Artificial Isolation? (in English) will be held at 7 PM (GMT+1) on KineDok International's Facebook page. You can look forward to the director of the film Viera Čákanyová and Czech photographer and documentary film director Petr Salaba. It will be moderated by Jana Gombiková.
Viera Čákanyová graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava in Screenwriting and from FAMU in Prague in Documentary Filmmaking. Her student films received multiple awards as well as at international festivals. She won the Regard Neuf, Vaud Canton’s Award for Best First or Second Film at the Visions du Réel festival. Viera Čákanyová also works as script editor and editor for independent projects and makes documentaries for TV and non-profit organizations. Her debut feature FREM received its international premiere at the Berlinale, and was shown at more than twenty international film festivals across the world. Čákanyová’s latest film White on White received its world premiere at the 23rd Ji.hlava IDFF where it became Best World Documentary.
Petr Salaba is a Czech photographer and documentary filmmaker who is currently completing his studies at the Documentary Film Department at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In 2017, his documentary essay, titled IIIIIIIIIIIII (2017) reflecting the problem of machine autocracy, was presented at the Ji.hlava International Film Festival in the section Czech Joy and also won the prize for the Best Czech and Slovak Popular Science Film at the international festival Academia Film Olomouc.
